The World Series of Poker is the fascinating event and one of the most prestigious poker tournaments in the world. First played in 1970, the World Series of Poker has grown in popularity ever since. The World Series of Poker consists of a number of poker tournaments of various poker games including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, and Stud Poker.
World Series of Poker started in 1970. However, this idea was actually conceived more than two decades earlier. A gambler Nicholas met the Benny Binion in summer 1949. He gave the idea that to challenge the best in a high-stakes poker marathon. He agreed to this idea and arranged the first poker marathon. This marathon was arranged between Dandolos and the Johnny Moss. This marathon last till five months and general public viewed this marathon quite enthusiastically. Moss won this marathon and got $2 million. Due to its popularity, Binion decided to arrange this event each year and named it as "world series of Poker". Today this series has become an international sports event. The rules of this event are:
- Entry to this series is limited to the players of age 21 years or above with a valid proof of age.
- The WSOP is subject to all applicable state and gaming laws.
- Harrah's may limit the number of entries in to the WSOP.
- Harrah may cancel, modify and re-schedule the WSOP for any reason with prior notification.
- Each participant must certify eligibility.
- Prizes and entries are non-transferable.
- Non- value chips are used for play in the tournament.
- Dead button is used for the games in the tournament.
- Winners are responsible for all texas, licenses and registration fee.
